Designed by Giggenbach, Ellen.
This canvas wall art for kids was inspired from folk elements of the 50's and 60's. The original was made from cuttings of painted papers that were lovingly assembled.
This canvas wall art is reproduced in Oopsy Daisy's San Diego studios using the best digital printing method currently available, resulting in great clarity and color saturation. After printing, the canvas is stretched by hand over a custom built 1.5inch wood frame. The canvas wraps around the sides providing a finished decorative edge. While not needed for canvases, solid wood framing in a contemporary floater style is available in ten sizes and two color choices. A saw tooth hanger is attached for easy hanging and artist biography information is included on the back so that children can learn more about today's working artists. Canvases are exceptionally durable and can be cleaned with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth.
Born in Bavaria, Germany, Ellen lives and works in Eastbourne, a seaside village in New Zealand. She is married with two young, creative sons. Ellen studied graphic art in Vienna and received a New Zealand Diploma with Distinction in Design. She creates art by cutting and assembling graphic shapes from vibrantly painted papers. Her inspirations include the birds and flowers she observes from her sunny studio. Ellen's German heritage influences her designs and a passion for the 1950s, 60s, and 70s inspires her graphic shapes and bright color combinations.
